Gas or Charcoal: The Debate Rages On
There are charcoal fans and gas fans. Those are the two sides people fall on. Each group swears by their method and will not use the other. Even if you aren’t die hard like some you more than likley have your preference. There is diffrences to each method in how your grill is maintained, the performance of it and in some cases the taste. Precisely what do you favor the gas grill or perhaps a charcoal barbeque grill?
What Kind Tastes Better?
Most people on the charcoal side swear by the taste. They say it gives the food that extra little flavor that gas grills can not. There are a lot of ways around this with gas grills today. There are gas grills that let you put wood types in to give it that extra flavor. There are grilling planks, rubs and marinades that can overcome the fact that the food is not cooked on charcoal. The differences between charcoal and gas grill taste is narrowing. Charcoal grills now feature infused wood charcoal, and gas grill retailers have come out with ceramic flavors bars that act to catch what drips down from food and mingles with the surrounding smoke in order to enhance the overall flavor.
Environment
Saving the environment is a huge issue today and more and more people are becoming eco friendly today. Gas grills are environmentally friendly and charcoal grills are not. Charcoal puts off carbon emissions and gas is clean burning resource. So if you want to reduce your carbon footprint, a gas grill is the way to go. Gas grills either use propane gas or natural gas. Propane is the more eco-friendly as it is renewable where natural gas is not.
Benefits
No one wants to spend hours slaving over a complicated cooking process that’s just a step above rubbing sticks together to start a fire. So if you’re really looking to do less work the winner here is the gas grill. Gas grills keep a constant temperature during the cooking process and come with push button ignitions. But if you prefer the traditional approach of grilling and being able to vary the temperature even from one side of the grill to the other (though not as accurately), stick with charcoal.
Prices
Gas grills are by far more expensive across the board than charcoal grills. There are fancy charcoal grills and basic models in a range of different sizes. There are some grills that use both gas and charcoal for the best of both worlds. Gas grills can be cheap, but can get very pricey. Which grill has the most expenisve ongoing costs? Charcoal grills going forward only need you to buy bags of charcoal and lighter fluid. Propane gas grills just need new propane tanks as the gas runs out. Natural gas grills tap into a natural gas line underground, but will effect your energy bills. Many top grade gas grills are fire magic grills.
